Today, I want to share a little something that has become a staple in my health routine: fire cider. You might be wondering, “What exactly is fire cider?”

Well, it’s an incredible herbal tonic that’s filled with traditional remedies believed to boost our immune system, enhance digestion, and ward off those pesky colds or flu.

My journey with fire cider began a last year when I first heard about it and tasted its delightful blend of ingredients on a herbalism course. Imagine this: a comforting concoction of horseradish, turmeric, garlic, oranges, ginger, herbs, and peppers, all fermented in apple cider vinegar. It certainly lives up to it's name and it packs a punch. It’s also packed with health benefits!

Why Fire Cider?

Let me tell you about some of the key ingredients that make fire cider so special:

Known for its antimicrobial properties, it’s a fantastic ally in fighting bacteria and may help lower blood sugar levels.

Horseradish

My Daily Routine with Fire Cider

Incorporating fire cider into my daily routine has been so rewarding. I start each morning with 1-2 tablespoons. Sometimes, I sweeten it with a touch of honey, or I might dilute it with some water or juice to make it go down easier.

But it doesn’t stop there! There are so many creative ways to use fire cider in other ways. Here are some of my favorite ideas:

4. Soups and Chili: A splash of fire cider can elevate the flavour of soups or a hearty White Bean Quinoa Chili.

5. Baked Potatoes: Pairing it with crispy baked potatoes or sweet potato fries is an absolute treat!

6. Sauces: I love adding a dash to homemade sauces for that extra zing.

How Often Do I Take It?

For the best results, I aim for 1/2 to 2 tablespoons per day. While it’s delicious on its own, adding honey or diluting it makes it even more enjoyable for my taste buds.
